The
first thing our group decided on is that we wanted the genre to be a Coming of
Age film, as we have more resources and an understanding of this genre, unlike,
for example a horror. We have access to many teen actors that would suit this
genre and use our own knowledge and experiences to create an excellent script
and trailer overall. We then decided that we should combine this with another
genre, so we would have a hybrid genre. Other genres we thought of were
thrillers, dramas, romance and sci-fi. Some examples of
these hybrid genres include;
Coming
of age/romance – Submarine
Coming
of age/drama – Perks of Being a Wallflower
Coming
of age/sci-fi – I am Number 4
Coming
of age/thriller – Abduction
We also
thought of possibly doing a film about a teen struggling with having bipolar
disorder.
