Explosion Evaluation - Abi
For the explosion, we did two shoots. One in daylight and one and night. This served the purpose of being able to see where we could improve in preparation for the night shoot. we first had a text explosion without Clare in shot so we could see the size of the explosion and get used to the noise it makes. This also allowed us to adjust our camera to ensure we get the best possible shot. We then filmed two more explosions once figuring out where the best place was for Clare to be, and deciding that she should kneel down (though that wouldn't be obvious to the camera as it was a medium close up) and then fall once she hears the expolosion. This was very succesfull as noone (except for me in the practice shot) made any sound during the explosion, and were all stood at a safe distance. After watching the footage back,we saw that Clare's fall did not seem realistic and that it perhaps would be better having her run and then fall like she had been pushed by the force of the explosion.
